How much difference you want between your softest strokes and the hardest. The "soft vel" basically determines how much dynamics you want. Good for adjusting the sensitivity of ghost notes and especially good for hi hats and cymbal swells If you set a "0" the velocity to volume will be bypassed but if you raise it to say 20 your soft strokes will have less volume. Then use the "soft vel" setting and adjust how soft you want the softest velocities. Make sure you set the sensitivity in your module so your loudest strokes feel right. One more tip from me, make sure all those humanize buttons are activated (the blue buttons to the right in the kit section). If you want to activate all available layers for that articulation just scroll down past zero until you get a - in all three boxes. Scroll with the mouse wheel until you get a zero in all three boxes to unload all those. They are called soft, medium and hard (or something similar, can't remeber). Then there are three boxes to the left that show how many velocity layers are loaded. Press the little blue button called "edit articulation only" (this is so you only affect the selected articulation). :roll eyes: I only seem to refer to it when I have a problem. It's easy, select the articulation you want to remove in the kit section in the scroll down list (in the bottom right). PS: My problem is I don't look at the Manual enough - always think I can figure things out myself. I'm turning red with embarrassment while I ask this. I feel kind of embarrassed to ask you this but here goes, how do I add in the extra velocities & get rid of the unused ones like flams?

Hmmm.now you have me wondering how I get more velocity layers in there.don't mind me, I've only had SD2 since it was 1st introduced.
